Study Breaks
Each summer break and winter break, we have a book club. Our book is always socially relevant, and our meetings are open discussions on the topics outlined in our book and are facilitated by Study Hard “Adult-helpers”, who share their experience, strength and hope with us.
Four times per year, we offer wellness workshops online. If we want to perform our best, we have to take good care of ourselves. To learn the best ways to care for our brains and our bodies, we have guest “Adult-Helpers” provide us with all the information we need to prioritize self-care.
The old paradox is true, we can attest to it! The more you give, the more you receive in return. We added our community service club at the start of COVID-19. With so many parents losing jobs, missing paychecks with businesses closed, and our students out-of-school, where they were provided with breakfast and lunch, we had to step up.
Our community is made up of really cool teenagers, who are ready and willing to share their interests with us. From cooking and baking to poetry and yoga, our tutors are here to guide us inside and outside the classroom. Join us in making decadent brownies, family recipes and making art that’s worthy of a gallery exhibition.

It’s free and important and cool and necessary and our duty and our responsibility and time to unlearn bias and be the leaders in our friend groups and our schools.

The old paradox is true, we can attest to it! The more you give, the more you receive in return. We added our community service club at the start of COVID-19. With so many parents losing jobs, missing paychecks with businesses closed, and our students out-of-school, where they were provided with breakfast and lunch, we had to step up. It’s impossible to study hard, when you’re hungry!
We partnered with United Neighborhood Centers (UNC) in Scranton to provide 100 bagged lunches a week to families in need. This fall, we’re continuing our work with UNC + we’re partnering with other community non-profits to help students in need throughout the 2020-2021 school year.

Join us in making decadent brownies, ethnic dishes passed down from our grandmothers, moving and grooving to everything from rap to indie rock and making art that’s worthy of a gallery exhibition.
